Newport Harbor Recovery was designed to provide structured residential treatment in an individualized, safe and compassionate setting. Our affordable substance abuse treatment programs focus on Men and Women, age 18 and over, who for many reasons simply cannot stay sober on their own. With structure and accountability these same Men and Women can go on to live sober, fufilling lives.
It's automatic that where there is alcoholism and drug addiction there are legal issues, family troubles and personal problems. Seperately and together these indicate a very vital need; The need to learn and develop new coping skills, relationship and behavioral skils, new Life Skills. This newly learned way of living must be free new way of life free of alcohol and mood-altering drugs.
Group and individual counseling sessions help to educate and motivate our clients; structure and peer life helps to modify their behavior and thinking, and 12-Step meetings and support groups provide a sense of community that helps newly recovering men and women stay grounded firmly in sobriety. Dual Diagnosis Treatment
Dual Diagnosis is a diagnosed mental illness combined with alcoholism and/or drug addiction. At Newport Harbor Recovery our trained staff, under the supervison of our Medical Director, insures that those who suffer from co-occuring disorders are treated with compassion. Because no single treatment is "just right" for all individuals, matching the treatment setting, intervention, and services for each of our clients particular problems and needs is critical to his or her ultimate success. FACT: depression, anxiety and bipolar disorders, (even ADD), can result from alcohol and other drug use. At the same time, alcohol and drugs can worsen or mask psychiatric symptoms. Not treating a co-occurring disorder can lead to Chroic Relapse.

A Day in the Life...
It's six a.m. and it's time to start my day. I quickly get up, make my bed and get in the shower. I have to hurry...it's Lombardi time. Lombardi time is Dee's way of saying don't just be on time, be 15 minutes early to everything in life. At six thirty we head for the seven a.m. A.A. meeting. Listening to fellow AA'ers with lots of experirnce is really helpful in my new-found sobriety. Before we return to the center I get a chance to hang-out with a few of the people who spoke this morning. Little things like that help me a lot. I've begun making some "clean" friends and I've already chosen an AA Sponsor. I used to talk about geting sober, attending support groups and having sober friends. At Newport Harbor I'm practicing action...and it shows.
